Kathryn's Purple Star Lenses
My Squidoo Purple Star Lenses
According to Squidoo, a Purple Star Lens is: A trophy that rhymes with Urple. A Purple Star, that is. This is a remarkable and rare trophy reserved for truly great lenses.
Purple Star Awards are given out by Squidoo editors and community organizers whenever they find a lens that stands out (in a GOOD way!).
Several of my lenses have been honored with the Purple Star, and I thought some readers and other Squidoo-ers might like to see the lenses I have created which have found their way into the ranks of Purple Stars. I hope you find the following Purple Star lenses helpful and entertaining!
About the Teen Celebrities & Role Models Lens
Instead of focusing on the teen celebrities and young adults who have gone haywire, I have focused on the ones who have remained positive role models overall. Allow me to introduce the Jonas Brothers, Luke Benward, Robert Pierre, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Jasmine Sagginario, pureNRG, David Archuleta and other teen celebrities. These teen celebrities are not perfect, but they are known for their family values and for their desire to be good role models for other teens.
This was one of the very first lenses I created, and while it has never hit the Top 100, it has received sold traffic every week.
About the Carrie Prejean - Miss California 2009 Lens
I created this lens after meeting Carrie Prejean at the Dove Awards during the "scandal" that occurred when Carrie Prejean answered a politically-charged question at the 2009 Miss America Pageant by giving her honest opinion. The lens hit the Top 100 for 4 days in May of 2009 and has continued to receive visits since then.
About the "Pure Country 2: The Gift" (AKA "A Pure Country Gift") Lens
I created this lens in November of 2009 when the taping for "Pure Country 2: The Gift" took place in locations around Middle Tennessee. I was an extra in the movie, and was very interested in the film, the actors, and any news about it. I was able to interview Katrina Elam, attend the world premiere and see Katrina Elam and the Cain family at a special show. The "Pure Country 2: The Gift" lens followed anything I learned about the movie.
Although the "Pure Country 2: The Gift" lens was created in November of 2009, this lens zoomed back up in popularity in August of 2011 for reasons unknown!

Outlaw Country Pilot Airs on FX
Devoted to all things "Outlaw Country,"the pilot originally planned as a television series on the FX network, the "Outlaw Country" lens covers some of my first-hand experiences during the shooting of the movie in Nashville, Tennessee, in October 2010. The lens also covers cast members Mary Steenburgen, Haley Bennett, John Hawkes and Luke Grimes, and features show updates and news.
